Liz Boldon, MSN, RNSenator Boldon was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2022, representing most of Rochester as well as Oronoco and surrounding townships. Prior to that she served in the Minnesota House from 2021-2023. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 and has practiced in the Neuroscience ICU as well as the Float Pool. She earned a Master’s of Science of Nursing degree with a focus in Education in 2008 and after working in education and leadership for 10 years, she has recently transitioned back to the bedside and currently works in an ortho-trauma general care unit. Senator Boldon serves on the Elections, Health and Human Services, Education Policy and Transportation Committees. She is the Vice Chair of the Housing and Homelessness Prevention Committee and serves as an Assistant Majority Leader. She is also the Senate Co-Chair of the Inclusive Democracy Caucus and the Minnesota Health Plan Caucus. |

Carolyn Mueller, DSW, LICSWCarolyn Mueller, DSW, LICSW, has been a pediatric social worker at Mayo Clinic for the past ten years. She currently supports the Mayo Clinic pediatric palliative care team as both the social worker, as well as the bereavement coordinator. Prior to these roles, Carolyn was a social worker in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiovascular Care Unit, and General Pediatrics, serving pediatric patients and their families with complex respiratory and discharge needs. Through this work, Carolyn developed a passion for multidisciplinary efforts for supporting families navigating tracheostomy and ventilator dependence. Carolyn has additional interests in bioethics, childhood complex illness, child welfare, and traumatic loss. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys traveling with her family. |

Theresa Meinen, MS, RRT, CHSETheresa Meinen is a 1995 graduate of Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. Throughout her career she primarily practiced adult critical care, but also dabbled in the neo/peds world, home care, long-term care, and out-patient services. However, most of Theresa’s career has been spent in education at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, WI where she was Director of Clinical Education for the Respiratory Therapy Program for about 16 years and is now the Coordinator of the Clinical Simulation Center which serves nursing and all allied health programs. She has a Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education and is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. During that tenure, Theresa began serving on the Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care board of directors. Her roles included Membership Chair, Education Chair, Delegate and now President. In, addition, she has presented at numerous local, state, and national conferences – most recently at the WI HOSA State Leadership Conference, In her spare time, Theresa enjoys ALL sports, but is mostly an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan. She also loves to travel and spend time at the lake with her husband Terry and 2 adult children, Justin and Amber. |

Additionally, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2019 from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. She currently works at UW Health East Madison Hospital and has integrated herself by becoming a member of the Employee Advisory Council, Technology Superuser Group, and Unit Council; Alongside this, has become her Class of 2025’s Advisory Council Representative and a member of the Respiratory Therapy Club both at Madison College. As a first-year student, there is a lot of critical thought towards what kind of future, what kind of opportunities, and how she can be involved with positive, meaningful change. Her attendance at the National Conference brought awareness to a multitude of subjects; but most importantly, it sparked a drive to becoming something that is on the top of her value list – An advocate. |

Chris Martinez, MBA, CFREChris Martinez is the chief executive officer of the Asthma and Allergy foundation of America - mid states chapter. Chris has served a variety of successful nonprofits over the last 15 years of his career as lead program staff, lead development staff and the organizational lead. Throughout the course of Chris’ career, he has been a national director of programs growing the startup organization, The Mission Continues, to mobilize over 30,000 nationwide volunteers from both the civilian and military communities, served as chief development officer for a $105MM social services agency and now has grown his AAFA chapter into a nationally relevant partner in the respiratory space. Over the last four years Chris and his team have been able to grow the Mid states chapter’s revenue 7X and program impact over 10X, each part by being the first successful organization to get not only one but two states to fund a school-based stock albuterol program at the state budget level. This funding and partnership allows for the implementation and execution of the program in over 5300 public schools across Missouri and Illinois.
